I also doubt group buy would get very far with the AMG. I talked to two dealers around my area and they are each only allocated a few CLAs for build. Also one of the new dealers in the area told me that they do give them some priority to help them establish themselves, so I doubt Mercedes is going to agree to really help one dealer and leave the other dealers out to hang by taking their builds.

I even told one dealer that I would be willing to go back to him (I told him the only reason I'm choosing the other is because he is like an hour away and the other one is 15 minutes) if he would give me any reason to and he would not budge.

But hey, you never know. Let us know if you all have any luck with a discount.

@Blownaway I know you're in the "space" (being at a dealer) but there must always be a hungry sales rep that will do a bit of a discount. I've bought even at high demand on other vehicles (330xi, etc) and there's always some keen sales guy who will drop the price a bit, especially on a cash deal. Maybe shop for smaller dealers in areas that might not has the same high demand?

I highly doubt there's a discount for the AMG given that

1. It technically isn't even sold in the US until November
2. There's already a (long) waiting list

It's one thing to have a car available in the dealer and then say you want to build a custom and get a deal, it's another when no dealer is getting one for the showroom for a long time down the line.
