Cadillac ATS vs. Mercedes CLA

Starting at $33 095 for the 2013 ATS 2.5L Standard RWD, being about $3 000 more than the base model Mercedes CLA 250. The base model Cadillac ATS can be seen as a better buy over the base model CLA 250 since it's RWD unlike the CLA, but is it??

ATS is not a bad choice. It also comes with a 6 speed manual. Also a 4 cylinder. It's also only 200hp.

Really though I'd only get the ATS in the 2.0T at the very least.

There are many complaints on the cadillac CUE system being slow and buggy.

You can just ignore the 2.5L ATS. I doubt any serious driver would even consider spending money on a $33k Cadillac with a 2.5L.

and the CUE system is a brand new technology and it's in very first cycle. It's far from perfect, but I'm sure it's going to get better. Remember when the first MMI and iDrive systems? They were horrible. Now they're among the best in the biz at what they do..

Well who cares about the Cadillac ATS. Just kidding I mean its not bad. Is the 2.5L a v6 or I4?

I heard that the Cadilac CUe system might be open for ads to pop up on the screen. What if it did that in the Mercedes Infotainment, how would you guys cope?

I like the ATS such big improvement from Cadillac I think it will be a nice branch off of Cadillac's line. The interior is shockingly much better than the CTS which is all plastic and all typical for cadillac. I would still still to german though.

I drove the ATS with a very knowledgeable salesman. Even he could not convince me that CUE is ready for primetime. I drove their 'Prestige' model with the V6 (325 hp +/-). The bells and whistles are amazing and include a heads up display that has a bunch of different modes. The best feature is the magnetic ride shocks that stiffen/soften instantaneously.

The 325 ponies don't feel like they are all there, but there are strong rumors of a 'V' version with a blown V6, and I still can't get used to their exterior styling.

I have pre-ordered the CLA45, and it will probably end up just short of $60K, plus T&L. The bottom line is that this car would definitely save you some coins, and it is a worthy, but flawed, competitor. Of course the CLA ain't without flaws either.

I find their exterior styling is somewhat polarizing. Some people love it, some people find it odd. But it is distinct compared to the other brands, which I respect Cadillac for doing. You can't accuse Cadillac style of being generic or common.

I agree. The magnetic ride control is one of the best features in the ATS. Not so sure about everything else.

I hate to say it but I am pretty much sold on going with the (2013 - 2014) ATS 2.0L Turbo Luxury AWD. Yes its more expensive but the standard features on the ATS are longer than the CLA. Leather, Keyless access/drive, Remote Start. 272HP. Reviews on the ATS are rock solid.
I have been keeping my eye out for pricing and Cadillac is offering some really deep discounts on the 2013 MY. Low 40K for AWD/Nav/Sunroof
