2014 Mercedes CLA 45 AMG Photos Leaked
Mercedes’ least expensive AMG to date just leaked ahead of its scheduled New York Auto Show debut next week.
Essentially the same car as the A 45 AMG seen during the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, it gets the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine with 355 hp mated to a dual-clutch transmission and Mercedes’ latest 4Matic all-wheel drive system.
As these pictures show, the typical AMG body modifications are in place. Big air scoops on the front, a black front lip kit and AMG wheels all help set the car apart from its less exciting sibling. Buyers will also get big front brake calipers and drilled rotors in both the front and rear.
The car’s squished CLS proportions remain intact, but you’ll also get special exhaust pipes meant to look like a quad exhaust as well as special side sills and a rear diffuser.
Cabin changes also include carbon fiber trim, special seats and AMG badges.
Pricing isn’t announced for the car yet, but the North America CLA 250 starts at $29,900, so a price somewhere between $40,000 and $50,000 seems likely.
