Yep, put our CLA250 with our Prototype CAT Back and Carlsson C-Tronic on the DYNO today. This is after 500+ miles on the C-Tronic, which allows the ECU to adjust, so the gains are real! We logged multiple runs in the 300-305 Wheel Torque Range and in the 220 - 224 Wheel HP Range.

This makes the CLA a joy to drive and as a bonus, if we keep our "foot out of it" (good luck), we see 1+ MPG gain!

We have the C-Tronic on the shelf and the Exhaust will be ready soon!

Working to get it into production ASAP. Our Mandrel bender is slammed right now, so it'll be a month+ is my guess. But we're working as fast as possible.

It literally installs in less than 5 mins, turn the car off, unplug the factory ECU, the C-Tronic plugs onto the top, re-attach the factory plugs and enjoy. It's all under the hood and easily accessible. I'll have the guys put together a video!

See how easy, was able to have it made in minutes during lunch (took longer to upload it to Youtube). Removed and then reinstalled and the video is less than 3 min! LOL :)

Fantastic. I'm very close to taking the plunge but just a couple of more questions if you don't mind. Will adding this void any manufacturer's warranty for the car? I know if ever need to bring the car in for service I might want to remove it to eliminate any questions or doubts or do you think it's OK to leave it on?

Also, how much added HP and torque was from the addition of the cat back exhaust and what kind of performance gain can I expect with the stock exhaust?

Thanks

Hello Tony,

Great, we have them on the shelf, so you can be enjoying the extra power very fast :)

Manufacturers cannot void a complete warranty over any aftermarket part. That has been law since the 70s with the Moss-Magnuson Act (Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) which the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) just reaffirmed a few years ago. The act states that it is the manufacturers onus to prove that the aftermarket part you installed is directly correlated to the failure you are requesting be covered under warranty. So if you install it and your seat belt stops working or your passenger door starts to rust, etc. It would be hard for them to link those together. If you installed it and the motor blow (almost impossible with the Carlsson unit), then it wouldn't be hard for them to connect those two. The great news is that Carlsson covers the motor for 2years/24K so I guess what I am saying is that your covered either way. Some dealers could make it complicated to service and cover the car for anything due to the modification, so you may want to remove it for service / maintenance for ease of use. Now some dealers, especially AMG certified understand aftermarket and performance more and may not care. I think the best and safest bet is to always have a good relationship with the service manager at the dealership you maintain your MB.

HP & TQ on a stock CLA was in another post, it is the DYNO chart and video we use on our product page here: TurboKits.com | CLA 250 FWD Carlsson C Tronic ECU Upgrade for 14-14 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 (C117) - 13W1760250 | Price: $1,895.00

Thanks for your interest and let us know if you have any further questions.

Received, you should have tomorrow!

Make sure you contact us to go over the warranty paperwork and get it back to us so we can forward to Carlsson in Germany. We include a return addressed envelope :)

Got the unit in hand and was planning on installing it tomorrow but found out I needed to go to DC tomorrow. I'll try to contact you about the paper work before I leave. Looking forward to putting it in over the weekend.

take some install pics tony :D
Just watch the video posted. It is very simple but you have to be delicate with the fastening or locking mechanisms as they are quite weak. It took me about 5 minutes to install it. I'll post some after pics soon.

Update. So far I've driven with the Carlsson C-Tronic unit for about 150 miles and with the exception of a minor and quickly resolved glitch I'm loving it. I felt the difference right away. The power comes on quicker than stock and seems to have less lag when I step on the gas. If I go easy on the gas pedal the fuel economy is about the same but it's very hard to hold back and not hammering it because it's so much fun. Install is very easy and quick. Performance delivers as promised. Highly recommended.
