No, I'm not planning on towing a trailer but I'm a cyclist so I would need a hitch mounted bike rack on the car. I wonder if a receiver hitch can be added or mounted behind the CLA? I would rather not use a roof rack or a trunk mounted rack.

My concern is with the super aerodynamic undercarriage of the car I'm afraid that there would be covers or shields to smooth out the bottom and there won't be any exposed holes in the frame or sub frame.

I think the overall drag co efficient of the CLA will definitely be affected by this. Don't you have another vehicle that you drive to perform such duties or are you going to be relying on the CLA.
Actually I do have another vehicle I can use to transport my bike as the CLA won't be my only vehicle. I would just like to take it to the trails every once in a while.

Do any of these products help you out? I know you said you don't want a bike rack, but maybe there is something there you can work with.

MERCEDES CLA CLASS BIKE RACKS
Interesting. I wonder how the rack is attached to the car. I would rather use my own existing rack as no part of the rack touches the bike aside from the tires. The bikes I have are pretty expensive so I want to minimize damage.

You need a trailer hitch, trailer hitch bar and then you can slide the bike rack into that and lock it in with a pin and you're done!

Only problem is finding a trailer hitch, once we can find a trailer hitch, we can do just about anything with the CLA.
I know, that's what I said. The problem is I don't know if anyone will make a hitch for the car.
