A45 AMG vs CLS63 drag race :)

The AMG is really quite hot.. for the price..

in a way im not surprised, power to weight ratio on these cars are close, CLS is a PIG. Although the A45 AMG goes as fast as a CLS63 AMG in the 1/4 mile, there are just so many things that set these cars apart aside from performance

um that is the CLS wagon though? but still the A45 AMG is impressive to beat it with just a turbo 4 cylinder. Top end power for the win!

That gives the A45 AMG even more braggin rights lol taking downa beast of a car like that CLS.

I wonder how much of a difference it would be just if it had raced a non-wagon CLS63 AMG. we are probably talking tenths of seconds.

Even the regular CLS63 AMG's are heavy and would probably do just as bad, I have no hope in it. Starting to think how it does against the S63. I know an E63 and C63 will smoke it easily.

The CLS regardless is a pig for weight it runs around to be a high 12 second car for the quarter mile.

Those are still heavy *** cars. I will put my money on the C63 AMG since it;s the lightest of the bunch.

You got that right.

I find that with a car that's classified as "fast", 12 seconds is in the range of a good 1/4 mile time, anything less than that will make it seem like less of a fast and sporty car.

Can't wait to see tuners get CLA45 AMG's up to 10 seconds

The only way I would want to be near that would be in a cement (heavily reinforced) blockhouse.

That is just stupid fast for a production car. But it would be interesting to see how the engine responds to the modifications.

MB and german car makers in general are known for building strong engines but at times unreliable engines, but how strong they are when it comes to modifications makes up for how unreliable they can be. Going off of MB's history and what I know about the engine, i'd say we have a strong engine here.

Lets prey that is true. I can see guys taking the CLA amg all the way up top.

For any engine there is a fine point for power and reliability we gotta find that median.

There will be ones who end up with some issues trying to max the engine out.

The baby AMG has some fight!

We really do need to find that median, if we don't it can be pretty bad for our wallet as it may not be covered under warranty. I doubt a good number of people will be waiting till their warranty is up

see that is the thing when you go out of the boundaries and start to change things. don't cheap out on parts and labor. Having things done right on Mercedes engine are crucial for its life.

It's those god damn hard head pedal pushers you have to be careful of. It'll take more brains than muscle to tame this beast.
