demand for an AMG injected CLA is exceeding all expectations, including the ones at Mercedes. Even though the CLA AMG will not officially hit the shopping floor until September, orders have been taken since July and already there is a three-month waiting list for the second-smallest AMG in the lineup. The Hungarian facility currently producing the CLA is having difficulty filling the demand.

I think a large part is that the CLAs lower starting point (base model comes in at roughly $30k MSRP in North America) is attracting buyers from higher segments as well. Mercedes shoppers in the market for a C-Class or current C-Class clients will certainly be enticed by the possibility of more car for similar money.

If you were considering a fully loaded C-Class coming in around $55k (below the C63) or an AMG CLA45 with MSRP starting at $50k which would you choose?

I’d take a shot of AMG every time, how about you?

Yup, that's just what I thought.

One compact vehicle I was going to buy, the Range Rover Evoque has more pre-orders than Range Rover could handle, i believe once the vehicle actually released people had to wait 6 months or more just to get their own Evoque.

it seems like the 45 AMG model is selling well. There are a few members here who have preordered one.

Seems to cause more discussion on the forum than the regular CLA.

More like November. The CLA 250 will be available in September. The AMG will be a couple of months later.

I don't believe the 45 AMG will hitting the shopping floor at all. My dealer tells me that the AMG version is order-only, and even then it may not be filled. 10% deposit is required for order at this dealer! I was told they would order a dozen if they thought they could actually get them.

May just be sales hype, but as they said, where else are going to get a hand-built car for $50,000 or so? Allocations are unknown and there is limited production capacity.

Just get in line, I guess. One would be fortunate to even see one. Test drive? Ha, forget it.

By the way, of the 15 CLA 250's they have coming in September, 12 are already sold.

One of my dealers said they're expecting 20 CLA 250s and one AMG on the floor so for them it is not order only.

thats expected. im surprised all of them aren't sold.
