Interesting... Dealer I spoke with said delivery mid November. Ill keep you posted if I get any more info after I go to the dealer.ive placed my preliminary order with my dealership in nashville. its for a 4matic to lease, so no firm pricing nor arrival date. sometime spring.
This makes sense the 4matic is not scheduled to be out until March/spring time. I am just looking at the CLA front wheel drive.thanks, boomer. that would be nice. im hoping to be the first in music city to get the 4matic. it will be jupiter red so ive already named it ( i name all my cars) red baron of course. trite but nice
I'm with you on this. There are about half a dozen MB dealers in my area and countless of other luxury brands. I plan to hit up every MB dealer in my area if necessary to get a dealer that will negotiate. If none of them budge then I have a very close second and even a third choice I can fall back on and won't even have to second guess or look back.Just a quick update. Was just on the phone with another dealer who said no to any discounts that the CLA at this time was to new and popular.
Could not even get him to work up from invoice price, it was MSRP or nothing. So I said thank you for your time, if you think you can do better please contact me.
I am fine giving my $ to another lux brand.
can't blame that sales person.Just a quick update. Was just on the phone with another dealer who said no to any discounts that the CLA at this time was to new and popular.

I guess I'm just not one of those people who has to be the first to get the latest model at the expensive of paying a premium price.can't blame that sales person.
this being this hottest luxury sedan to come out, and also being a car that will bring a lot of new Mercedes benz buyers, why settle for someone who wants the cheapest price when other people will pay MSRP and even MORE just to get it as soon as possible.
Im not blaming anyone and agree with you 100% but only a sucker would pay MSRP. And with out any question MB will lose sales on the CLA not offering ANYTHING off the sticker price.can't blame that sales person.

I think I'm doing the same. My credit union offers 1.99% financing up to 60 months so financing is not an issue. They also offer 72 and 84 month terms at a little higher interest rates but I think 60 months is good.I have actually decided to wait until December (best time of year to buy a new car) want to see how the numbers pan out on sales of the CLA.
As of right now even finance or leasing residual numbers are not available.
You do have a point but the CLA is being sold now in Europe. It's only the first year in North America from what I understand.i don't know if I would jump to financing a first year production vehicle, i usually lease them just to cut my losses and give me more of an opportunity to upgrade to a better CLA in the future. Just more leverage with a leased vehicle.
I'm not expecting any dealers to sell the CLA at invoice this early on but even if they do sell it at invoice they still make money. Due to dealer hold backs and other incentives, invoice is not what the final price a dealer pays. I bought my current car at below invoice and the dealer knows that I'm smart enough to know they wouldn't sell me a car at a loss and that I, and many others, know that invoice is not a true cost a dealer pays for a car and he didn't insult me by trying to pretend I'm "stealing" the car from him. I'm not saying anyone who pays MSRP is a moron either. If you're comfortable with paying MSRP then more power to you. I just chose not to and I won't feel like I'm losing out if I don't end up getting a CLA. There are plenty of others out there that I can get. This is why competition is always good for the consumers. As far as paying MSRP and being a "moron," please consider MSRP on the base CLA is $2K over invoice. The E class and SLK are closer to $4K.
My wife's pre-order was made with the knowledge that there will be little or no negotiation. We do have the option to look it over and either pass on it, getting our $1K back, or purchase it. With such a relatively low differential, I doubt there will be room for negotiation anywhere stateside. Believe me, the dealers are not going to sell CLAs for the 1% MSRP holdback.
If anyone can be honest and let me know of a MB dealer that sells at invoice, please do so.
