So... i just got my Cla 250 with fully loaded options including Sports package and such,,, but im so sad over the fact that it did not have the Xenon/ LED lights...

It really makes a difference but i just dont know what to do about it... dealer quotes me about 3500 to switch them out (parts and labor). i know ppl tell me to wait for aftermarket or something but i dont know..

If anyone from Maryland or anywhere else have detailed informations on some options i have to switch/upgrade my lights somehow, please let me know!

I'm assuming that you bought a car off the lot rather than build your own, right?

I ordered a car built to my own specs (CLA 250 4Matic; sports, premium, and lighting packages; sunroof; blind spot assist), but the tradeoff is that I'll have to wait until mid March or the end of March to take delivery.

The next time you get sad, just imagine yourself driving around your old rig...waiting for March or April to roll around...and maybe you'll feel a little better about not having the Xenon/LED light package.

thats the one thing i would have to have. BUT theres options. go to www.theretrofitsource.com and you can basically build your own headlights. i know there are companies that do aftermarket retrofits. oracle lights is one of them, but if you just google "retrofit headlights" youll find all kids of people. the typical clean very nice retrofit would cost about 1200$... good luck.

Did you know it didn't have Bi-Xenon lights before you bought it? You can't assume that a car that's "fully loaded" has everything because in your case it obviously didn't. Bi-Xenon head lights with LED tail lights is a stand alone option, not a part of any package. A little bit of research (like simply going to the MB web site and use the build tool) would have told you that. So what's done is done. Now to fix your dilemma. The dealer's quote of $3500 is probably for the OEM look and parts (LED Daytime Running Lights up front and the LED tail lights at the rear in addition to the Bi-Xenon head lights). That's a lot more than the $850 MB charges if it was installed at the factory but understandable given the amount of labor involved as well as the cost of the parts. Your only recourse may be to the sell old parts replaced by the new and recoup some of the cost. There's always a market for replacement OEM parts. If you decide to go with aftermarket lights you'll probably save a ton of money but you won't get the OEM look. So it depends on what you want (OEM look for more money or just want any Bi-Xenon head light for less money)? BTW, congratulations on your CLA. I'm sure you'll love it, Xenon or not. My neighbor has the about the exact same car as you (Cirrus white, Premium Package, Multimedia Package, Sport Package, Panorama Roof and no Bi-Xenon) and he loves it.

Well the other problem with aftermarket HIDs is that it's possible that you're messing with MBs warranty for your car. If you have any electrical issues specifically, I would expect to have a discussion with the service manager and maybe your MB field rep over your non-OEM headlamps.

On the subject of the term "fully loaded," it's really only used by people selling cars or people bragging about their cars. You were on the wrong end of this.

I feel badly for you... the Bi-Xenons are nice... MB should never have had a standard halogen headlamp assembly.
