I think you can sum it up when you look at what the two cars we designed to do. The ATS was designed to kick BMW in the teeth, the CLA was designed to on board new clients with cheap luxury.

You tell me which one sounds engineered better...

Except that the 4 is a two door. There is an ATS two door floating around, but my guess is that someone will stick a nail in it.

Well the 3 series is still a 4 door. Caddy engineers used the e46 3 series as the benchmark for the ATS' steering and feel. It was designed as a BMW hunting weapon.

Now as for the CLA... its platform was developed to underpin cheaper FWD variants for Mercedes and Nissan, for 2 vehicles coming in at similar MSRPs one is far more engineered than the other...

the CLA is nice but its only nice, CLA is a pretty girl with no personality..
