I don't know if I am more inmpressed on getting an AMG for under $50,000 or that the CLA 45 AMG makes a whopping 355hp from a 2.0L turbo.
Both (for me)!

AMG arrives in U.S. Nov, confirm $47,500

Attended premiere party in NYC, saw car in person and spoke w/ AMG representative at length. 250 will arrive in Sept, AMG variant in Nov. Nicely optioned $53-$55K, check every box including $5K carbon package you're close to $60K.

thats the scary thing about Mercedes. The CLA 45 AMG price starts at just under $50k apparently but optioning it out, then adding in taxes and all the other fee's it can easily be a $70k car out the door.

Still well worth it for what it is. Now I wonder how BMW will price it's BMW M2..hmmm

Makes you think about the S3 which is rumored to be $39K base...

If past history is correct, an MB stated 4.5 sec. 0-60mph probably means closer to 4.1 sec. Now that is worthy of a sub $50K base car in my book. And hopefully with some minor ECU tuning a sub-4.0 sec. car can be had for another $2,000 to $4,000.

Is there such vehicle line as the RS3 or is the Audi S3 the highest? Well base fo base comparing the base audi to the base CLA you cant beat the value there.
There are rumors of an RS3 but nothing for sure. The S3 has been in the works forever, they finally confirmed it to be here sometime next year. Should have more info after the Shanghai show next month, but I don't see the RS3 coming anytime in the next 18-24 months.

Size-wise the CLA is roughly the same as the current S4, w/ similar options the S4 is about the same $ if not a bit better.

Yes just base model.
Following is the break down
$ 48k MSRP
$ 4800 Documents & taxes
$ 5000 car preparation for final delivery charges (full tank fuel ,detailing,minor upgrades etc
add abt 500$ taxes on upgrade

is the dealer taking me for a spin .
Please suggest what should i do.
i waited for an year now to buy this amg car .started saving from past year but now i am thinking of leaving this car and buy another car instead as the price mentioned by is now getting out of control.
i dont understand the point of MB launcing a car for $48k and in the end customer getting it for 60k .so total of 40k premium over cla25 price

Well $4800 documents and taxes is 10% of the MSRP so that isn't as bad.

Now $5000 preparation for final delivery? Which upgrades?

How much are they charging for detailing?

Depending on what options yea I guess it could hit $60k

Where is the dealer getting this package pricing though? What is the breakdown of the minor upgrades and how much does that cost?

Personally I'd skip the detailing. Don't even tell them to do the pre inspection. Delivery the car in the plastic.

Drop the car off to a real detailer and get that sucker ceramic coated professionally.
