The one thing that I find super sad is that people do not appreciate the engineering that it takes to deliver an engine with that much horsepower and then offer a warranty on top of it.

The engine is also underrated, which means that it is typically overbuilt to more than adequately handle the current load.

From an engineering perspective, it is well worth the money. However, not all drivers will take full advantage of that performance so imho, not utilizing the full product.

Very true. But the reality is that none of these new almost supercars can be taken advantage of on public roads. At the speeds, and with the acceleration, they are capable of, you go from 'wow ride' to what's that tree doing smashing my door in to dead in the blink of an eye. FWIW I have 20 years of racing and a few high speed rallies under my belt. But I don't intend to go out and "push" my CLA45 on open roads when it comes..

If you are, or think you want to become, a good driver - TAKE IT TO THE TRACK. Think about it - you can even live to tell about it.

Keep the shiny side up.

Couldn't agree with that more! I am actually against having a lot of those race start features. I don;t / can't find any applicability on day to day driving.

On the track note, has anyone come across video's/information about the amg 4 matic system ? I have heard/read conflicting rumors that it is haldex or actually custom Mercedes. I would love to understand more about how it compares/contrasts to Audi's BorgWarner system or Subaru's symmetric AWD.

I don't know much about the 4matic system but haven't heard anything bad about it from most of the reviews I seen. Reviewers were very pleased with the 4 matic system, even with the power split to front and rear wheels which will make you forget it's a bit FWD biased.
