The MFA (Modular Front Architecture) platform currently is the base for the A-Class, B-Class, CLA and GLA vehicles. Renault-Nissan is looking to benefit more from its friendship with Daimler AG by using the platform on some non-premium vehicles of its own.

Carlos Ghosn says, "When we make a platform, we don't dedicate it to one brand. Platforms belong to companies, even it I tell you today we have no projects for one particular brand, within three months or sooner somebody can come with a project and I'll put it on the platform.

Could this mean the Nissan Almera is on its way back as a cheaper A-Class in a few years???????

Nissan Almera? do they even sell that in north america? I don't like the sound of that it might be nice for Mercedes and the others who benefit from the sales but for us people driving those will be like "we use the same platform but they paid a lot more".
