The headroom is clearly deficient. This convinces me that my next Mercedes will be a B 250 and not the better-looking CLA.

I would expect this from two door sports car but not in a four door sedan. How is the space in the back seat of a Mercedes C Class?
In one word: tight.

There is a minimal difference in the rear for headroom, C: 901 mm headroom, 652 mm legroom; the CLA has more of each: 905 mm headroom and 690 mm legroom. Conclusion: the CLA is better.

Just as a comparison for Canadians: the B 250, built on the same platform as the CLA, has 985 mm headroom (about 3 1/4 inches more than the CLA and 3.5 inches more than the C Class) and 728 mm legroom. The back of the B is a good place to travel, for an adult.

They have "blind spot assist", as does the new B Class (which doesn't really need it).

No, I don't fit: 6'3" and long torso mean that if I didn't have a head, it'd be fine. The space in the rear is atrocious and the high-backed seats and slit wide windows mean you should have confined spaces training if you are small enough to fit back there. The B 250 is on the same platform and it's like a bus inside. I test drove an E 250 CDI 4MATIC today and it was as good as the B Class in the back.

Well this should be further evidence that the CLA is a nice relatively inexpensive little 2+2 but the rear seats are not even good for kids in a kiddy seat due to tight legroom (if the driver is tall).

Boring isn't the right word. Just answering the original poster's question. Have a nice day.
