Sweet! Glad to see parts like these are becoming available.
Thanks, we'll have our quad tip exhaust available shortly as well. Mandrel Bent in the US, no long ship times or hefty shipping costs :)

Thanks for the info, looks like you have some good products for us CLAers:cool:
Thanks :) Working on it!

A little back ground. We had been watching the development of the CLA from a far, but very interested. Then we saw the add on TV watching the SuperBowl in 2013. That Monday we called our local MB / AMG dealer and started talking to the manager. Being an AMG dealer, they understand performance and how it can help sell cars. At first they were going to give us a loaner for development, but the more we saw the car and the potential market and what MB was putting into it, the more we realized we needed a long term project car. So we bought one! And in between the never ending barage of snow storms, we started developing parts. Stay tuned... We don't like to just weld some pipes together and throw them out there, we back everything with the kind of time and attention to detail an MB owner will expect. We have an in house DYNO and fab facility and won't stop testing until we are happy with it. For instance, we're on our 3rd version of the exhaust and we NAILED it this time :)

Can you explain the benifits of running water or methenol injection on a stock motor? Does this cut down on detonation from low octane fuel? Is this a complete kit or is there something else to buy?
There wouldn't be much benefit on the stock motor that we can tell now, as the stock ECU is keeping everything on lock down. However, we will be installing a system and seeing how the IATs and timing curves look at that point. Maybe there will be gains to be had. The benefit will grow as the aftermarket opens up for the CLA and more PSI and custom tunes become available. Water meth injection is a great way to add additional intake temp cooling as well as bringing up the active octane rating of the fuel. It can aid in a safer running motor with great detonation control. I guess technically it could be used to run lower octane, but I don't think there would be any cost benefit, since the turbo spools very well, you'd find yourself in boost and using water meth during normal driving.

Here is a short video from AEM. This is the system we normally use:

The Power Plate is the block off plate with the ports build into it. It comes with 2 plugs and a vacuum line fitting. So in that form, it is complete. It does not include the water/meth system or nitrous system if that is your question.

Thanks for your interest and let us know if you have any more questions.

Looking forward to pics of the quad tips. Is it possible to have the tips moved more to the inside rather than being out at the edges of the bumper?

Something like this?

Not a fan of the tips being all the way on the corners.

Not without a replacement rear diffuser and a redesigned exhaust. It would make a $1200+ exhaust a $2400+ exhaust that requires a body shop to install. Hold judgement until you see our final exhaust. I think you'll all be pleasantly pleased :)

Any audio available? All the setups Ive heard thus far sound like a Honda Civic
Not yet, we just went down to the MB / AMG dealer we have been working with to show them the exhaust. They loved it, the sales manager, also a car guy, said "that's how they are supposed to sound!". Nice and deep, smooth with a few gurgles on the decel, exactly what we wanted. No drone either! Tangent, sorry... So while we were there we took videos of a loaner CLA 250 completely stock for comparison, idle, rev, start, on road and drive by. We just need to do the same videos on our CLA with our exhaust and we'll post them up. Just been soo damn cold! It's top priority tho :)
