There wouldn't be much benefit on the stock motor that we can tell now, as the stock ECU is keeping everything on lock down. However, we will be installing a system and seeing how the IATs and timing curves look at that point. Maybe there will be gains to be had. The benefit will grow as the aftermarket opens up for the CLA and more PSI and custom tunes become available. Water meth injection is a great way to add additional intake temp cooling as well as bringing up the active octane rating of the fuel. It can aid in a safer running motor with great detonation control. I guess technically it could be used to run lower octane, but I don't think there would be any cost benefit, since the turbo spools very well, you'd find yourself in boost and using water meth during normal driving.Can you explain the benifits of running water or methenol injection on a stock motor? Not without a replacement rear diffuser and a redesigned exhaust. It would make a $1200+ exhaust a $2400+ exhaust that requires a body shop to install. Hold judgement until you see our final exhaust. I think you'll all be pleasantly pleased
Not yet, we just went down to the MB / AMG dealer we have been working with to show them the exhaust. They loved it, the sales manager, also a car guy, said "that's how they are supposed to sound!". Nice and deep, smooth with a few gurgles on the decel, exactly what we wanted. No drone either! Tangent, sorry... So while we were there we took videos of a loaner CLA 250 completely stock for comparison, idle, rev, start, on road and drive by. We just need to do the same videos on our CLA with our exhaust and we'll post them up. Just been soo damn cold! It's top priority tho
