700, just 700 Edition 1 CLA's are allocated for North America, with 300 dealers scattered across the US alone, good luck getting you're hands on one. Most have either been pre sold or sold within 24-48 hrs of arrival.

Although I think we do have one member here with an Edition 1....

Looks great, Eddie. 50/30 is a great combination.

Just got delivery of my edition 1 last weekend. This is my first Mercedes....having previously owned BMW. I'm happy with my purchase...it satisfies all my needs for a really good price.

BTW...I've only seen Edition 1 models in mountain grey. Does anyone know if they are releasing other colors in the USA?

No other colors. Only one flavor for the Edition 1. Oh, and congratulations on your 1st MB.
Yes Sir! one flavor for every one but what would you guys do to set yourself apart from every other editon 1 cla owner. or just leave it...

I might do some window tinting just like Eddie's... and a bunch of tuning stickers up and down the front of the front doors. :D OK, not the stickers but tinting is a maybe. But then it'll look just like Eddie's. Hmmm..

What BMW did you own? And how do you like it compared to your new CLA?

Have you seen BMW's rival to the CLA? The 2 series gran coupe?
looking good Eddie!~

What is going to be next on the list of to-do?
I really want to get some AMG door pins. The accessory manual says only the front 2 can be installed. But I don't want just 2. I wanna keep it uniform and have 4 or just stay with the plastic ones. I've read that someone was able to also unscrew the back ones and screw in door pins themselves. Anyone else?

Also would like to get chrome caps for tire valves.

I previously owned a BMW M3 Sedan. It was my dream car. However it is now out of warranty.....and was costing me too much in repairs and gas, so I gave it up...and wanted something compact, economical, sporty and luxurious....and the CLA came along...so I decided to lease it for a few years to see if I like the Mercedes Brand.

And yes...I saw the 2 series gran coupe....if it was available...I probably would've purchased that instead. I also would've considered the new Audi A3 sedan. However both of these models aren't available until next year......I can't wait that long.

I think BMW and Mercedes both have their good and bad points. I also test drove the new BMW 428i with M Package. Very sporty and luxurious. However, once I option it up to the same level as the CLA...you're pretty much paying over $55k.
Coming from an M3 sedan to a CLA, I don't think the CLA will be the right car to make you like Mercedes, The M3 sedan was a better car IMO.

I wouldn't say CLA is going to give you a clear picture of the Mercedes Brand, maybe some of the intangibles that come from dealing with their people but in terms of quality of products the CLA will definitely not be fair to compare to your M3...

Anyways congrats on the car, how are you likeing the adjustment from RWD monster to FWD city car?

If you really look at it, the CLa is a step down. the C63AMG would of been a car to really make you like the brand and be jumping in to something equivalent to the M3.

Yes I know...it's not a true comparison. I'm viewing it as "taking a little break" until I figure out the next sports car I'm going to get.

Definitely...it's a big step down. But I knew this...and it is what I wanted.
I was tired of high car payments, low mpg (averaged 14mpg)...and expensive repairs (since it was now out of warranty). I considered waiting for the AMG version...but decided that I don't need the "meanest car on the road" badge anymore.

get a Mustang or a 370Z. You can hop into a GT or a 370 for about the same 30K as CLA plus take the tail out sliding. CLA needs some finicky Scandinavian thing to get it *** backwards ;) LOL

or even a camaro that could keep up with the 370 on a track, not sure of the Mustang could.
Im thinking I'm the first Edition 1 owner in New Hampshire :) Good to meet you all, just posted intro with some pics in another thread.
Welcome and those are some great pics. I love the one of the rear lights.
What did you guys end up paying for the Edition 1 by the way?
I think most paid sticker ($41,825).
My dealer has one that has sat on the lot for about the past month - has 500 miles on it and they want $41,125 for it. Now there are 2 used ones out there for $40k each as well. Wasn't in a real rush to get one but I do love it and it has all the options I actually would want.

I am getting the extended warranty so that's the only feasible reason I could see buying the new one (I think you have to be the first owner). Or I could just wait for one to come CPO next year!
