I know I'm guilty of pointing out some of these comparisons are not really comparisons (i.e. of two cars that are for different markets), but I just had to throw out the Alfa 4C. It's a gorgeous car, and somewhat in the CLA45 AMG's (though a lot more in the Cayman's, Lotus, or SLK) market. If I had a garage of my own I would consider this as a secondary toy. Sure it's low on power and has the engine from a Guiletta, but when your car is that light (~2500 lbs in the US, in the EU it is only 1973 lbs!) you don't really need all that much power. Yes it's a rather pointless car, but I'll be honest, if I had a garage and both were out at the same time, I'd seriously consider this car, practicality be damned!

It was priced at around $54k in the states, which is comparable to the CLA45, though given how much carbon fiber is in the car who know exactly what the price will be when it actually comes out. It will sure stand out at the Chrysler and Fiat dealerships though!

if you don't need the cargo space and rear passenger space then by all means get this, it's just not going to be something a lot of people can see themselves transitioning to coming from a CLA.

the 4c is a nice car

but i think the problem with the 4c is the the lotuse and porsche boxster/cayman are also around and they are much easier to obtain in terms of availability

i fear that by the time the 4C makes it to north america i might have died of old age.
