For the first time this year Mercedes-Benz has outsold Audi to become the world's second largest luxury car brand in November. Benz delivered 133,440 units last month, an 11 percent hike over last year. That number put them ahead of Audi which sold 132,050 units, and still behind BMW which sold 149,660 units last month.

There was a 54 percent increase in demand for compact models, like the CLA and A-Class hatchback.

“The current model cycle is very beneficial for Mercedes,” said Sascha Gommel, a Frankfurt-based analyst at Commerzbank AG. “Audi and BMW have to invest in new production capacities and the development of new models. Mercedes’s investment cycle has peaked and they are entering a phase of outperformance.”

With 13 all-new models coming out by 2020, it is a fun time to be a Benz customers.
