360 hp is really good considering the size of the CLA. Just not sure how much it weighs but I already bet it's a wicked power to weight combination.
Specification speculation for the sporty compact cars hasn’t been scarce, but official information on the A45 wasn’t available until today.
Tweaks to the car that could alter performance specifications for North America are possible, but chances are good that the CLA45 AMG will boast almost identical numbers. Those numbers include 360 hp out of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. That powerplant also kicks out 332 lb-ft of torque between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm.
Expect the same same seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that will also send power to all four wheels via a new version of the brand’s 4Matic all-wheel drive.
Despite being a front-wheel drive-based car, Mercedes says the A45 will be able to route more power to the rear wheels. That paired with the brand’s “Curve Dynamic Assist,” which slows the inside wheels slightly in a corner for improved handling, could mitigate common front-drive handling complaints.
The car pictured above is the A45, not the CLA45, but the cars will likely look similar apart from the obvious hatchback to sedan changes.
