The BMW 3 Series has eleven inches longer wheelbase than the Mercedes CLA. Of which the occupants benefit in the back seat of the 3 Series.

And falls with the CLA 2.70 meters from at least eleven inches shorter than A4 and 3 Series. A class difference. Compact AMG: Mercedes A 45 AMG with 360 hp

The Audi A4 is a 2.0 TDI with 177 hp almost 1500 euros cheaper than the A-Class derivative CLA 220 CDI (170 hp).

Finally, follows a big surprise: the Mercedes actually costs more than Audi and BMW! In the price list which is CLA 220 CDI with 170 hp in the base trim for 37,991 euros, after all standard with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The suitable opponent called Audi A4 2.0 TDI with 177 hp and multitronic for 36,550 euros and BMW 320d with 184 hp and eight-speed automatic transmission for 37,800 euros. Conclusion: This Mercedes reached for the stars. Hopefully he takes it before too much.

The Audi looks like crap. The Mercedes and BMW are the two good looking models.

Does anyone agree?
The Audi looks outdated compared to the BMW and Mercedes. I'd say the CLA front end turns more heads vs the BMW 3 series.
11 inch longer wheelbase on a 3er? Tell us another one! Ha!
This is the best comparison I have seen so far for the CLA. I would also like to see how the new BMW 2 series would stack up against the CLA.

I really can't get over how plain and boring the A4 looks compared to the BMW and CLA.

I am trying to decide what makes the CLA more attractive to me over the 3 series.

Gosh the A4 is ugly. Who would buy one? Geez.
The Audi A4 has really changed that much the overall shape still looks the same and could be mistake for the older models. They don't seem to be bringing anything to the table. I wouldn't go with the AUdi, If I do it'll be a used one because I can get it for cheap and it still looks like the new one.

Out of the three though the nicest looking one has to be the CLA with its curvy lines but one thing that could cause a great concern is rear seating area for the passenger. It could be a real neck cranker from the looks of the passenger in that picture.
I don't think this is the best comparison, I actually think the A4 and 3 series are in a total different class than the CLA.

I'd like to see what the CLA is like when compared to the BMW 2 series and upcoming Audi A3 sedan.

The Audi A3 sedan and 2 series gran coupe will be real CLA competitors.
That is true. We will have to wait for those photos.

It is still nice to compare them from a design perspective.

Just shows how attractive the CLA is beside other german designs.

and from what we can see the CLA looks better than cars in classes higher up than it, which is impressive, typically a lot more things are put into those higher end models.

once the Audi A3 sedan and BMW 2 series sedan come out, there will be no doubt in my mind that the CLA will be looking far better than them, since the design language from those two brands have been fully exposed, we can already envision what it'll be like.
Thanks for the comparison. I was waiting to get a Cla but i cannot accept to buy a car where my children or guess cannot sit confortably in the back. Good comparison for same power, for same luxury but not at all same size for people like me just dream from the picture
Children will fit fine in the back. The legroom and headroom is just as good as the C class mercedes.

Only people who are over 6 feet tall will have a problem in the back.

How do you know that headroom will be as good as the C-Class?

Any specs to compare the both of them or anything else to go off of?

Oh wow, the CLA is a bit more spacious than the outgoing Mercedes C-Class.

I won't expect it to be like that for long, the current C-Class is due for a refresh, it's been out for 2007 and like mentioned on this forum it looks really outdated when compared to the rest of the new Mercedes vehicles.

Although the CLA doesn't technically fall under the C-Class, I think the new 2014/2015 C-Class will be bigger, with maybe a couple inches more room all around.
The Mercedes CLA seems to be wider, I can see the new C Class being bigger or a change in size due to this reason. How can you let the entry level compact be more spaceous. The C Class is due for a face lift anyways. I can Mercedes making slight changes to the rear for more head room if we complain enough.

Thanks for backing me up tonyride.

I read it in an article. The CLA is not that much different on the inside. The C Class isn't any comfort kind either. It's a small car.. Just sit in a S class car and you will really know what legroom is about.
I still believe that the current A4 looks conservatively relevant. In fact, the new A3 sedan looks derivative of the A4. That said, I would still pick the new CLA for its sweeping curves and appealing front seats (on either the CLA 250 or 45).
