Daimler AG, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, saw its profits increase by a staggering 53% in this third quarter of the year. This is largely due to Mercedes-Benz's success at selling small cars like the CLA.
The company had a net income of 1.90 billion euros ($2.6 billion), which is up from 1.24 billion euros last year.
The A-Class, B-Class and CLA's sales rose by 90% in the quarter. Vehicle sales overall rose 14% to a record 395,000. Demand from China was also a significant factor as sales rose 38% in that country.
All this is to say that Mercedes-Benz is doing really well right now. Really, really well.
