I had thought that those would be the centers where you could buy AMGs or have them serviced. There are three dealerships here, two of them AMG Performance Centers. But I went to the one that wasn't and they had the most AMGs. Even a CLS and G. They sold and serviced AMGs. They even had their own AMG mechanic. You know, one of those guys that gets sent to Affalterbach to learn. So what is actually the difference between a regular Mercedes dealership and an AMG Performance Center?

Good question. I guess since there's such a high volume of AMG vehicles they have to have the regular dealerships service and take care of them.

A worthy question that can actually stimulate discussion. Although I haven't seen any known dealers around recently, maybe one could pop up here.

That's the problem though. Around here, the biggest AMG dealer is the dealer that is NOT an AMG Performance Center. The other two are. The non-AMG Performance Center also has the highest end AMGs. The dealer also does special order AMGs and does the most European deliveries. So that's why I ask, what is an AMG Performance Center when it appears of the three dealers around here the one that does the most AMG business is the one that's not an AMG Performance Center?

But again, that non-AMG Performance Center had their own Affalterbach trained mechanic. So why would they have that if they aren't approved? And how the heck would they get their hands on a Gelandewagen (a new one at that) if Mercedes didn't approve of them selling AMG?
