Yeah, I am struggling. I want an inexpensive 17" wheel (winter damage a concern) that suits the personality of the CLA. Youthful but not too rice rocket-y. Something that doesn't visually ground the car but also something not too thin spoke-d. I also like wither something highly polished with black accents or something graphite.

IMO I think those wheels are ugly. But if you like them then you should get a set. Might be best to start with a rendering of them on the CLA just to see if you really like them

I was browsing BenzWorld and found an incredible deal on these 17" AMG package C-Class wheels, in California...you should snatch these up, and polish or paint portions of the wheels for the look you want.

You cannot beat that set for $400...

That is actually a killer deal, $400 for OEM wheels....and tires to go with them!
Plus they're much more suitable for a CLA than those aftermarket wheels.
This is one of those wheel and tire sets you have to act quick on as they'll go quick.

Better shot of them under ideal lighting:

claNOW and Benzfan, that C set-up looks great and definitely a bargain, however, I want to go narrower than wider. The staggered set-up may be too wide for the rear, especially since the car is only +/- 3250 lbs and front weight biased.

You all talked me out of the OZ (pseudo-MINI) wheels. How about theses two other options:

DAI Replica R27: DAI Replica R27
or
Sport Edition A8: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Whee...n&wheelModel=A8&wheelFinish=Titanium+Gunmetal
Both are 17" and have roughly the same OEM off-set (ET) as the E1 18 inchers.

Another option would be to use the existing wheels with 215 40 18 snows until a good 18" alternative surfaces. However, that would risk potential damage to the OEM wheels.

I'm a fan of gunmetal so I'd suggest the second: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Whee...LA250&autoYear=2014&autoModClar=Sport+Package

For fun when I ran the 250 through TireRack in my area it spat out an 18" tire package that was relatively cheap.
