2014 Kia Cadenza - Premium Sedan

I had no idea that Kia was moving this far upscale! Not sure how to put these two brands into my cerebral cortex at the same moment...

I have to admit it's a nice car from looking at it on that website but at the end of the day it's just a Kia. Plus it's not really something that can compete in the same segment as the CLA.

I actually looked at the Cadenza during my car search. There is just something about the quality of MB over the Kia. The Kia is a really nice car but it's just that a nice car. My CLA feels like so much more when I'm sitting in it or even just looking at it.

With the low price of the CLA 250 its being compared to pretty much everything. You just have to go and sit in these cars to get a feel for the value. Pictures can only go so far.

Kia Cadenza does look really nice. Its starting price is higher than that of the CLA. They are definitely the same segment though. Just based on the fact that Kia is moving upmarket with the Cadenza and Benz is moving down market with the CLA makes me think that Kia will have made a nicer vehicle than Benz in the segment. I'd have to do more research to have a more developed opinion though.

Looks like Kia's finally catching up to Hyundai. I never understood how Hyundai improved so much earlier and quicker than Kia given they are the same company. It won't be too long until Kia and Hyundai start really eating into Lexus/Infiniti/Acura sales as those cars inch higher and higher in terms of price. Especially since brand loyalty is kind of fading now. There's a whole generation that is growing up having driven cheap Kias and Hyundais that would like a nice luxury car but know that the Japanese and Germans are out of their price range that would go for the Koreans. And the warranty seals the deal if all you're looking for is a soft sofa with Twitter to go from A to B.

Back in the days when they had the Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme and Buick Regal coupe and Grand National were the days, it was their time, after that they just died. Now it's Kia's time.
